Giving our employees the opportunity to volunteer for a cause they are passionate about and believe in has allowed our team to discover many great organizations within our community. This year, our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Program, Be About It, has continued to grow as we have had the honor of supporting various organizations such as The Arizona Humane Society, Phoenix Children’s Foundation, The Candelaria Nature Preserve in New Mexico, and The Foster Alliance. Our teams were able to assist with animals, clean up the environment, and help brighten a child’s day—and these are just some of the initiatives throughout the Southwest our team has volunteered their time with this year.
This holiday season we teamed up with The Salvation Army to donate over 7,000 gifts for their annual Christmas Angel Program. Our team volunteered to purchase, organize, pack, and deliver gifts for almost 3,000 angels. Check out our ‘Tis the Season blog to learn more about our Christmas Angel efforts and the impact this had on our team.
As part of our VTO program, our team was also able to donate their time and efforts at one of The Salvation Army warehouses distributing, organizing, and loading these gifts. We also had some team members participate in Red-Kettle bell ringing around the community, helping to raise money and awareness. This was a time for us to come together to show our appreciation and admiration for a great cause while inspiring other industry professionals to join us in making a difference.
Hear from Our Team
“Ringing the bell for The Salvation Army was a heartwarming family experience and one I hope my young daughters will remember forever. It helped us get into the holiday spirit and feel the true meaning of Christmas and family. We experienced the joy of giving for the sake of giving, created a lasting memory, and started a new family holiday tradition. I am proud to be part of a company that gives us the opportunity to volunteer.” – Nick Z.
“Volunteering for The Salvation Army was one of the best experiences and something I will continue to do every year. It was incredible to see how many red bags we were able to fill by the end of the night and knowing that thousands of kids will be able to experience the Christmas magic.” – Lupita P.
Our ‘Be About It’ culture shines brightest when our teams use our VTO offering to give back to the communities where we live and build. We are excited to see what 2025 has in store for us as we continue to evolve this program and expand our reach within the community to impact new causes dear to each of our teammates.
